Are you ready for some… tennis? The Friendswood High School Tennis Team is hoping the answer to that is “YES.”

Anyone in the area can polish their skills and take on a member of the high school team. Winning or losing isn’t important, just playing the game and having fun is what makes up this fundraiser for the group.

For 48 hours straight, the team will take on anyone interested in a game of tennis for the simple cost of a donation to the group. For tennis, this one fundraiser helps pay for tennis equipment, uniforms, and tournament travel expenses.

The playing goes on for 48 hours Aug. 12-14 on the FHS Tennis courts. The marathon will begin with matches between FHS Varsity vs. Dobie, Friday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. The FHS tennis players invite you to challenge them for 48 Hours straight immediately following the scrimmage.

Those marking their calendars, please add to bring a tennis racquet and money. There will also be food trucks onsite throughout the weekend.

The Tennis Team will be selling Raffle tickets $5 each or 5 for $20. These tickets earn you a chance to win a Mini Segway Pro, a 43″ TV or a Kindle Fire.

The Silent Auction will be taking place throughout the weekend along with clinics held by our local tennis pros and Bay Area Racquet Club.

Checks should be made out to Friendswood Mustang Booster Club (FMBC) and donations can be mailed to FHS Tennis Attn: Karen Massicott 2107 Airline Drive Friendswood, Texas 77546.

“We hope all of the players get to play day and night,” Coach David Cook said. “Insomniacs, come on out and let’s play. Daytime? We are here waiting for you.”
