Casino activities are popular with seniors in Friendswood and the Senior Citizen Activity Program has two upcoming events with this in mind.

Their annual Casino Extravaganza is set for Aug. 12 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Friendswood Activity Building. Blackjack and roulette will be available as well as other casino games, music, dancing, door prizes and refreshments. Professional dealers will be on hand to not only assist with the playing but also share the game rules for beginners. The event is free.

Sponsors of this year’s Casino Extravaganza include HomeTown Bank of Friendswood, Heartis Clear Lake, Paul Gordner, Visiting Angels, Jeter Funeral Home, Village on the Park, and The Cottages at Clear Lake.

All proceeds from the casino event will be used for senior citizen programs and events.

A trip in September is also planned for those who enjoy casino games.

Seniors are invited to take a day trip to the Coushatta Casino and Resort in Kinder, Louisiana Sept. 20.

The trip will begin at 8 a.m. from the Friendswood Activity Building and return there at 8 p.m. that day.

Cost is $10 per person and those wanting to attend can begin signing up for the trip on Monday, Aug. 15 at 9 a.m.

Call 281-482-8441 for more information on both events.

The Activity Building is located at 416 Morningside Drive in Friendswood.
