James Michael Curtis, 66, of Alvin passed away August 17, 2016 at home. James was born July 5, 1950 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Perry Curtis and Modena Eunice Lambert Curtis and, brother, Thomas Curtis.
James was a veteran of the Army where he served in Vietnam, and the Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Enterprise CVN 65. He was an Electronics Technician at Houston-Sigma Technologies in Sugar Land, Texas. He retired in 2013. He was a Baptist and was a member of Sagemont Church in Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Curtis of Alvin, Texas; step-son, Thomas Shankle of Victoria, Texas; brother, Richard Curtis of Harriman, Tennessee; sister, Betty Wolford and husband, Ron of Brighton, Michigan; sister-in-law, Jackie Curtis of Hartland Michigan; and grandchildren, Mason Shankle of Spur, Texas, Brittney Shankle of Pearland, Texas, Rollin Shankle of Pearland, Texas; and great-grandchild, Skylar Renee Shankle of Pearland, Texas.
He will be cremated and then taken to Hartland, Michigan for a family memorial. Then he will be brought back home for a memorial service after which there will be a fireworks display in which his ashes will be carried into the sky where he can light up our lives one last time. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.
Arrangements were under the direction of Jeter Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas.
