Meetings set on bond election

Community meetings have been scheduled regarding a $220 million bond referendum for Pearland ISD, set to be on the ballot in November.

The public is invited to a series of meetings meant to provide more information about the bond election and answer questions. Meetings are scheduled:
– Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Education Support Center.
– Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Dawson High.
– Oct. 25 at 11:30 a.m. at the Education Support Center, to be held during the Pearland Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon.

To vote in the November bond election, residents must be registered in Brazoria County and living in Pearland ISD before Oct. 11.

Bond projects include expansions and upgrades to both technology and individual campuses. The maximum tax impact of the bond package has been estimated at 7 cents per $100 of valuation.
