Lorraine Yvonne Bolinger Smith, 89, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died on Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Pearland. 
Mrs. Smith was born in Houston, TX on October 4, 1926. Her father was Carl Bolinger, and her mother was Hazel Ketchum Bolinger.
Mrs. Smith attended Sam Houston High School, where she was an officer in the Black Battalion drum and bugle corp and a member of the honor society, graduating in 1942 at the age of 16.
She married Lester Andrew Smith, Jr., on April 29, 1945.  The two were married for 67 years until his death in 2012.
In 1967, she and her husband moved their family to Pearland, where Mr. Smith opened a Phillips 66 service station and later owned a Phillips 66 gas and oil distributorship.
She enjoyed many happy years as a stay-at-home-mother, caring for her husband and raising their four children. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband and grandson, Wayne Olin. She is survived by her son Doug Smith and his wife, Pam; son Larry Smith and his wife, Sharon; daughter Hazel Olin and her husband Tommy; daughter Jackie Estes and her husband, Ray; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
For the past 5 years, Mrs. Smith lived at Colonial Oaks in Pearland.  Her family would like to acknowledge all of the amazing caregivers at Colonial Oaks for the unconditional love and attention they gave her during the time she lived there.
Visitation with the family was Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 with Rev. Jerry Stark officiating.  Interment will follow at the Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.
