The community of Friendswood said goodbye to summer at the first Annual Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social held on Labor Day, Sept. 5 on the grounds of the Frank J. Brown Heritage Museum in downtown Friendswood. Celebrity “scoopers” included Mayor Kevin Holland, Councilman Billy Enochs, Councilman Steve Rockey, Councilman Mike Foreman, FISD Superintendent Trish Hanks, Deputy Superintendent Thad Roher, FISD Trustee Matt Robinson, City Manager Roger Roecker, Asst. City Manager Morad Kabiri, and Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Kristen Miller. Up to 25 gallons of Blue Bell Ice Cream, cookies and other goodies were served to 500+ attendees! The outdoor event was sponsored and hosted by Friends of Downtown Friendswood Association (FDFA) and Friendswood Historical Society on Labor Day.
