Community leaders and hospital medical staff welcomed new CEO David Wagner Wednesday evening with a Meet and Greet at the hospital. He became Pearland Medical Center CEO on Aug. 8.
A 29-year veteran of hospital administration, Wagner has served as the vice president of facilities management and support services at the Saint Francis Health System since 2011. Saint Francis Health System is a five hospital health system with 1,300 licensed beds and more than 900 affiliated physicians in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to this role, Wagner served as vice president of Saint Francis Health System’s home care and support services division. Before that, Wagner served as administrator of CHRISTUS John Hospital in Beeville, Texas for eight years. Additionally, he served as the assistant executive director of the General Health Services Corporation and administrator of patient care services at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas; and vice president of operations at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. He began his career as a nursing assistant at St. Luke’s Lutheran Hospital in San Antonio.
“When it comes to providing the very best of care and service I have been quite impressed by the level of commitment that has been demonstrated by the Pearland Medical Center leadership, staff, physicians and Board of Trustees to providing the highest quality of care in an organization,” Wagner said. “I am particularly pleased to be joining an organization developing into a full service hospital to include its affiliation with The Woman’s Hospital of Texas. I look forward to partnering with my new colleagues to build on an already well established foundation.”
