 Friendswood Lady Mustangs
    The Dickinson Lady Gators stunned favored Friendswood early in the district opener, but the Lady Mustangs ultimately came away with the win by the scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-15 and 25-17.
    Shannon Murphy was all over the floor for the Lady Mustangs with 18 kills and 20 digs. Zeyanna Dhalla paced the offense with 32 assists.
    Leading Dickinson’s offense were Amaya Young with 14 kills and Kassi White with 10 kills. Val Barrett fueled the Lady Gators attack with 32 assists, and also was strong on defense with 15 digs.
    Ebony Wiltz led the defense with 19 digs, while Gabby Pugh chipped in 12 digs and Baylee Klingler adding 10 digs.
    Friendswood is now 1-0 in District 24-6A action.
                                                               Friendswood defeats Atascocita
    The Friendswood Lady Mustangs stampeded Atascocita with a 25-15, 25-16, 25-17 sweep.
    Faith Marabella led the Friendswood attack with five kills, while Bri McGown and Delaney Rhodes split setting duties with 10 assists each. McGown also served up a whopping seven aces. Jordan Pleasants led the defense with 11 digs.
                                                                    Pearland Lady Oilers
    The Pearland Lady Oilers defeated the Alief Elsik Lady Rams in a three-game sweep 25-17, 25-10, 25-11 in the District 23-6A opener for both teams.
    All-American Brooke Botkin led the offensive charge with 18 kills and she also recorded 17 digs. Grace Lee added 14 digs.
    Sam Costello added three blocks while Katie Whitehead had 23 assists and Abi Watts had 11 assists.
