KRS2 to host Painting with a Purpose Oct. 10

On Monday, Oct. 10 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., public charity, KidsRStrong2 (KRS2) will host Painting with a Purpose at Painting with a Twist (PWAT) – Pearland. Painting with a Purpose is an opportunity for the organization to partner with PWAT to raise funds in support of children battling life-threatening conditions.

“Each day numerous children and youth in every city, state and country battle some form of a life-threatening illness, such as pediatric cancer, sickle cell anemia, and cystic fibrosis, to name a few. As these children fight for their lives, direct support is oftentimes needed for them and their families. That’s when organizations such as KidsRStrong2 come in,” said Jennifer Sowell, retired Texas Children’s Hospital employee and longtime supporter of KRS2.

KRS2 raises funds in support of children battling life-threatening illnesses. The organization provides support in the areas of special programs, scholarships and research.

“Our focus is to simply support children in an array areas. For instance, by providing monetary support for essential needs such food, gas and living expenses; as well as organizing special events and activities for families to strengthen their family bond, as recently done at our Family Fun Day on Sept. 10. In addition we also raise funds so that we can award scholarships, and assist with the funding of research efforts at Texas Children’s Hospital,” said KRS2 Board of Director and local Attorney at Law, Jai Collier.

“We’re hoping that our community members will join us for an evening of fun, as we fellowship and raise funds for a great cause,” said Tomika Gamble, president and founder of KidsRStrong2.

Interested individuals can join in on the fun for a small contribution of $35. 50% of the proceeds raised from Painting with a Purpose will go directly to KidsRStrong2, to allow the organization to continue to fulfill it’s mission of helping those in need.

“We’ve selected an inspirational gold awareness ribbon as our painting of choice for the evening,” said Gamble.

Attendees will have the opportunity to donate their paintings to children in the hospital once the evening is over. This however is not a requirement, it’s just another opportunity to give back and to put a smile on the faces of many.
