Mayor appoints members to four city committees

Appointments and reappointments were made to four active committees at the Oct. 3 meeting of Friendswood City Council.

Mayor Holland endorsed appointments to the 4th of July Steering Committee, Investment Committee, Keep Friendswood Beautiful, and the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee.

On the 4th of July Steering Committee reappoint members Thomas McDonald, Corey Kirkland, Anthony Scarpa, Rufino Ramirez, Judy DeAlejandro, Michelle Scarpa, Christine Scarpa, and Stacy Scarpa were all reappointed to three year terms expiring November 2019. Council liaison is Billy Enochs.

Robert Bozka and Allan Rasmussen were reappointed to three year terms on the Investment Committee. Their terms will expire November 2019.

On the Keep Friendswood Beautiful Committee, members Tim Anderson, Patricia Steinke, and Susan Stephens were reappointed to three year terms expiring November 2019. Council liaison is John Scott.

Doris Ochoa was appointed to a three year term on the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee. Her term will expire November 2019. Dorothy Montz was appointed an alternate member to a three year term expiring November 2019 to replace Mona Palmer who became a regular member.

Councilman Mike Foreman is the Council liaison for this committee.

DESIGNATION OF OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF FRIENDSWOOD
The Friendswood Reporter News has been designated as the City Official Newspaper for publication of legal and official news for the City of Friendswood.

The designation was approved at the Oct. 3 meeting of the Friendswood City Council.

The Reporter News was highlighted for its visibility, cost of publishing and submission deadlines.

The News also offers additional exposure with its online newspaper.

The Friendswood Reporter News will serve as the Official Newspaper for the City of Friendswood for a term of service from Oct. 1, 2016 to Sept. 30, 2018.
