Pearland ISD National Merit commended students announced

Twenty-eight Pearland Independent School District students have been named commended students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Commended students include…

– Dawson High School: Andrew Caddell, Richard Cam, Vi Cao, Kaylee Champion, Andrew Fung, Joshua Gray, Samuel Greiwe, Kyle Gu, Jacob Kennedy, Arjun Kunjilwar, Jaime Luong, Victor Tien Nguyen, Theresa Nyowheoma, Arun Rao, Benjamin Rasband, Renee Shohet, Mia Simmons, Tidie Song, Charles Wang, Peter Wang and Michelle Zhang.

– Pearland High School: Katelyn Adams, Mitchell Cowart, Payton Kubicek, Markie Resendez, Gabriel Reyes and Jeremy Ulfohn.

– Turner College and Career High School: Emily Aguiar

These students rank among approximately 34,000 commended students nationwide who are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

Although they will not continue in the 2017 competition for National Merit scholarships, commended students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test.
