Two seniors in Pearland ISD are nominees for the 2016 Brazoria County Fair Queen. Hannah Holder and Alexis Wagoner are two of 13 senior girls from Brazoria County High Schools who are vying for the annual title that will be announced Oct. 15 at the fair.
Hannah Holder is a senior at Pearland High School.
She is a four-year member of Pearland FFA and has raised and shown seven pigs at the Pearland Livestock Show and Career Expo, Brazoria County Fair, and Houston Livestock Show. She has also participated in culinary events at the Pearland Livestock Show and Career Expo for three years.
Holder is a member of the PHS Yearbook Staff and the 2017 Prom Committee. She was the PHS junior class representative and has been involved in FFA Leadership Development events as well as Career Development events. She is an employee and team leader for Chick-fil-A and a volunteer for the Pearland Parks and Recreation and the Houston SPCA.
She is the daughter of Heath and Brenda Holder of Pearland.
Alexis Wagoner is a senior at Turner College and Career High School.
She has been exhibiting livestock at the Brazoria County Fair since she was 8 years old. At school she was Freshman Class President and involved in Student Council. Currently, she is a Turner Ambassador and a member of the National Technical Honor Society.
She participates in FFA as an FFA officer and handles the club’s public relations, shows livestock, judges livestock and serves as a public speaker.
The nominees for queen will be judged as follows: 50 percent coronation, 25 percent interview and 25 percent participation.
The Fair Queen will be crowned at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Brazoria Fairgrounds auditorium. Also named at the same time will be the following: Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, the James Massey Award winner, and two runners-up for the queen title.
