Grand Opening of Pearland Fire Station 2

In celebration of their 70th Anniversary, the Pearland Fire Department held a Grand Opening for Fire Station 2 on Saturday, Oct. 8. The event began with Deputy City Manager Jon Branson welcoming guests and dignitaries, followed by an invocation by Sam Fowler, pastor of New Hope Church. The Pearland Police Department Honor Guard presented the colors before Mayor Tom Reid and City Manager Clay Pearson addressed the crowd. Greg Bozdech was sworn in as Fire Marshal and past members of the Pearland VFD were recognized. After the ‘uncoupling of the hose’ and ‘wet down’ ceremonies, visitors were able to tour the new facility. Fire Station 2 is a 10,726 sq. ft. station designed to house one 4-person Engine Crew, one 4-person Ladder Crew, and one 2-person Ambulance Crew. The station is located on 6050 Fite Road and includes 10 dorm rooms, three restrooms with showers, a kitchen dining area, a Captains and Lieutenant’s office and an exercise room.
