At the Oct. 11, School Board Meeting, Alvin ISD Board of Trustees approved the designation of two assistant principals; one at Manvel Junior High School and the other at Savannah Lakes Elementary.
Ahmesha Graham was selected to serve as one of the assistant principals at Manvel Junior High, to accommodate continued growth district-wide. Graham comes to Alvin ISD by way of Wharton ISD. She has more than 18 years worth of educational experience, which includes serving as a teacher and assistant principal at the middle school, junior high and high school levels.
Upon the official designation of her as assistant principal, Graham could be overheard saying that she’s very excited and proud to join the Alvin ISD team.
“She’s one of ours now,” shared Superintendent Buck Gilcrease during the meeting, as he expressed his excitement for her joining the Alvin ISD team.
Trustees also approved Laura Peterson, who previously served as the Campus Instructional Math Coach for Savannah Lakes, as the newest assistant principal of the campus. Peterson has dedicated a total of 15 years to the field of education, specifically at Savannah Lakes Elementary and Alvin Elementary.
“We are confident that both Graham and Peterson will do a great job leading at their campuses,” said Allen Roberts, Alvin ISD associate superintendent of human resources.
