BBQ cook-off winners at last year’s Manvel Police Association cook-off for Toys for Tots show off their trophies at the end of the annual event.

Music will be part of this year’s Manvel Police Association Barbecue cook-off set for Oct. 28-29 at 19710 Hwy 6 in Manvel.

The annual Blue Santa fundraiser will have music, Preston Brown Band from 7 – 10 p.m.

Categories for the cook-off are brisket, chili, ribs and desserts. The cook-off will have 20-plus teams vying for trophies and bragging rights.

A special putt putt area for kids will be set up for both days. Off-road trucks will be on display including one named Rudolph and a Santa Sleigh with simulated reindeer.
Silent auctions and raffles will be underway both days.

A DJ will keep events moving Saturday all day.

A special raffle for a $100 Academy gift card will be part of the fun. One raffle ticket will be given to attendees for every toy they bring for Toys for Tots.

Vendors will also be part of the two days of events.

This is the fifth year for the cook-off.

“This event has always been very successful for us and we think this year’s events will be the best yet,” Patrol Sergeant Anthony Meshell said.

There is still room for a few more cooking teams. Anyone interested in taking part in the cook-off, contact Meshell as soon as possible at 832-818-0597.
