Although it still feels like summer, the annual “Fall Haul” is approaching. The event allows Friendswood residents to bring truck-loads of tree limbs, grass clippings, old appliances, furniture, wood, metal, or plastic to Centennial Park (2200 South Friendswood Drive) for disposal. This year’s Fall Haul is Saturday, Nov. 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hazardous materials are not allowed.
Between 8 a.m. and noon (or until the shredding truck is full), each resident may bring up to 200 pounds of paper for shredding. Please do not bring 3-ring binders, cardboard, hanging file folders, newspaper, microfiche, and videotapes. Shredding is sponsored by JSC Federal Credit Union.
At the same time and location as the Fall Haul is the Keep Friendswood Beautiful (KFB) Garage Sale. Bring your gently used furniture, other household items and bicycles (but not clothing) for KFB to sell. Proceeds from the Garage Sale will benefit the beautification of city facilities and parks. KFB also needs aquariums, dog and cat kennel carriers, clean rags, and shallow crock bowls; items used by people who help rehabilitate wildlife.
If you have any questions about the Fall Haul, please call the City of Friendswood Parks and Recreation Department at 281-996-3220.
