Six Pearland schools recently received a generous donation from Third Coast Terminals’ employees through an initiative to support the Communities in Schools (CIS) organization.

After choosing to purchase sweatshirts for one hundred students at Lawhon Elementary, Third Coast employees surpassed their goal by collecting nearly 250 sweatshirts.

This inspired employees to further their donation by raising money to purchase clothing, undergarments and shoes for Lawhon students. Through their efforts and competitive spirit, the company raised over $15,000.

Jim Clawson, Jr., owner of Third Coast Terminals, agreed to match the amount raised by his employees, bringing the total donation to $30,000.

Approximately $10,000 of the donation was used to purchase clothing, games and shoes for Lawhon students. The remaining money will be distributed among the five other Pearland CIS schools: Carleston Elementary, Cockrell Elementary, Jamison Middle School, Sablatura Middle School and Pearland Junior High South.
