Ernest Frank Heeb, 78, of Friendswood, Texas passed away December 17, 2016. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 22, 1938, and graduated from Christian Brothers University, of Memphis, TN in 1962. For a number of years, he was an accountant and controller for Texas State Optical of Beaumont.

Ernie was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Vidor, Texas, from 1976 through 1988, and Mary Queen Catholic Church of Friendswood, Texas, during the past 25 years. He served as an usher and Eucharistic minister, and participated in many other ministries. He was a Past Grand Knight at Our Lady of Lourdes and Mary Queen K of C Councils. He was a founding member of St. Anne’s K of C Council in Coppell, Texas, and a 4th degree member of Pearland Council. He chaired the Mary Queen Lenten fish fry for many years and remained an active participant. Being a Chicago native, he was a dedicated Chicago sports fan, especially the Cubs, and in spite of his illnesses managed to stay awake through the last game of the World Series to see them win.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Katherine, and three daughters, Katherine Keith and her husband Kit, Elizabeth Heeb, and Patricia Zimmer and her husband Daniel, and grandson, Vaughn Daniel Zimmer. He was preceded in death by his parents August and Francziska Heeb, and son Vincent John Heeb.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
