The Friendswood Municipal Court is moving, but the move will be temporary.

Beginning Jan. 4, the Public Safety Building will have maintenance begin inside the area where the Municipal Court holds hearings and trials.

As a result, all evening proceedings will be held temporarily in the Council Chambers in City Hall on the first floor. All evening Court activities which take place on Wednesday will be in the new location in City Hall.

The new location will affect jurors, potential jurors and any other people involved in any aspect of hearings or trials, according to city officials.

All daytime court administration activities will continue at the Public Safety Building on Whitaker Drive.

The maintenance involves a water leak from the roof that is coming through to the court room. After the leak is located and repaired, court will once again be held at the Public Safety Building. At this time, no date has been determined when this will occur.

City Hall is located at 910 South Friendswood Drive in Friendswood.
