Recycling more items can be a great new year’s resolution and Friendswood offers a unique environment that offers a wide range of recycling at every residence in the city.
Recycling bins are available for all.
A Waste Connections of Texas recycling truck collects in neighborhoods one day a week. Residents place their containers at their curbs by 7 a.m. for pick-up.
Recycling is picked up for items made of paper, glass, plastic, and metal.
Paper items can be newspapers, magazines, catalogs, mail, paper bags, and flattened cardboard. Regarding cardboard, all tape needs to be removed from the boxes.
Glass bottles and jars are recyclable, excluding mirrors, windows, and ceramics.
Plastic containers include all varieties of the types designated as #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #7.
Recyclable metal must be aluminum, steel or tin and cannot be scrap metal.
