It may not have been a White Christmas but there will be snow in Pearland on Jan. 30 when the city presents the 20th annual City of Pearland Winterfest.

Winterfest is an annual outdoor festival with family friendly events. It is held at the Pearland Recreation Center and Natatorium located at 4141 Bailey Road form 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One of the most popular events there is the HEB Winter Zone, featuring over 200,000 pounds of snow. This provides ample opportunity for children to tube down a snowy hill or just play in the snow.

Along with food vendors, live entertainment and carnival attractions, Winterfest will also have an exotic petting zoo with pony rides sponsored by Westside Veterinary Hospital, an Express Fit Zone sponsored by Express Rolls, a Crocodile Encounter exhibit, craft areas and much more.

Live entertainment will be featured throughout the day on The University of Houston Clear Lake- Pearland Entertainment Stage.

“Pearland is proud to offer this unique event to the community. It’s one of the largest events hosted by the City, boasting nearly ten thousand attendees each year,” Special Events Coordinator Nicole Bowen said.

Tickets can be purchased at the Recreation Center through Jan. 29, with a $2 discount for those who bring a non-perishable food item for the Pearland Neighborhood Center.

Free parking is located at Turner High School and a free shuttle will run to and from the event throughout the day.

Tickets are $10 for children age 3 through 16 and $4 for adults. Children under 2 are free.
