Clear Brook’s David Azore’s scored 33 points to lead the Wolverines to a 67-56 win over the Friendswood Mustangs.
The loss drops the Friendswood to 1-2 in league play.
Clear Brook opened up a 20-12 lead at the end of the opening period and then took a nine-point lead at intermission.
Friendswood battled back to begin the second half 16-10, but Clear Brook turned the tables in the fourth quarter 26-18 to pull out the 11-point margin of victory 67-56.
Three Mustangs scored in double figures: Tanner Bandini (13 points), Alex Dehoyas (11 points), and Griffin Schneider (10 points).
Friendswood 50 – Clear Falls 43
Clear Falls jumped out to an early 12-6 lead after the first quarter, but the Mustangs came roaring back as the Mustangs cut the deficit in half by outscoring the Knights, 14-11, in the second quarter making the halftime score 23-20 in favor of the Knights.
The Mustangs took control in the second half, as Friendswood won the third quarter 16-11 to take a 36-34 lead into the final period, but had to hold off the Knights in the fourth quarter (14-9) in the home win.
Friendswood’s Tanner Bandini tallied 18 points and Alex Dehoyos chipped in with 12 points to get the come-from-behind victory.
Taylor Vessel scored a game-high 19 points for Clear Falls.
