More than 100 trees will be given away by Keep Friendswood Beautiful on Jan. 21, at 8 a.m. at City Hall in Friendswood.

The trees are part of the city’s Annual Tree Giveaway held each January.

Trees are given one to a family and are of a variety suitable for planting in the area. The tree varieties include Nuttal Oak, Magnolias, and Chinaquapin Oak.

The free trees are for Friendswood residents only and to receive one, each family must have a water bill or driver’s license to show proof of residence.

The giveaway is a first come, first served event and the event ends when no trees remain.

“We suggest those who are interested get here early because they do go fast,” City Manager Roger Roecker said.

The trees are 15 gallon and residents will need to bring their own transportation to have one. Delivery is not provided.
