City seeks Parks and Rec Board member

The Parks, Recreation and Beautification Board has a board vacancy and the City of Pearland is seeking applicants to fill the position.

The Parks Board members serve as an advisory board only. Their main responsibilities are to study the recreation park facilities and beautification programs in Pearland. They also recommend both the use of the parks in the city and rules for park use.

The board members serve three year terms on the board.

The board is comprised of seven members appointed by the City Council.

They meet the second Thursday of each month at 8:15 a.m. in the Administrative Offices Conference Room.

A quorum of four members is mandatory for a meeting to take place.

According to city officials, the City of Pearland depends on its boards, staffed and operated by residents to assist and advise the City Council and the Administration on the community concerns that impact Pearland.
