Lady Mavericks remain unbeaten in district action

The Manvel Lady Mavericks picked up two more district wins to remain unbeaten with a 20-8 overall mark and 12-0 in District 23-5A competition.

With only four more games left on the district schedule, it is safe to say that the Lady Mavs should wrap up the 23-5A crown for this season.

Manvel beat Fort Bend Willowridge 63-32.

The Lady Mavs began the game in dominating fashion outscoring the Lady Eagles 20-6 in the opening period.

Manvel continued to dominate on both sides of the court taking the second quarter 16-6 for a 36-12 halftime advantage.

The second half was closer as head coach Bryan Harris emptied his bench.

Manvel won the third quarter 18-12 and then closed out the final period 9-8 for the 63-32 lopsided win.

Manvel 68 – Shadow Creek 27
The girls at Shadow Creek were no match for the Manvel Lady Mavericks in a 68-27 loss.

The Lady Mavs jumped out to a 20-4 first quarter lead and increased the margin 16-6 in the second period for a commanding 36-10 halftime advantage.

It was more of the same in the second half as Manvel won the third quarter 14-8 and the fourth frame 18-9 to claim the 68-27 victory.

Manvel will host Fort Bend Marshall on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m.
