As time nears to the Super Bowl in Houston, Pearland has declared a Super Weekend of its own, Feb. 4-5.

The weekend celebration, planned by the City of Pearland Parks and Recreation and Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau, is designed to provide visitors and residents alike with entertainment options surrounding the annual major football competition, Super Bowl.

Nashville recording artist RaeLynn headlines a Super Concert in Pearland on Saturday, Feb. 4 with Two Tons of Steel as the opening act during the free, outdoor concert at 7 p.m. at the Pearland Town Center.

Singer RaeLynn is a nominee for the Academy of Country Music New Female Vocalist of the Year. Her current hit is “Love Triangle” and will be part of her debut album Wildhorse, set to be released this year.

“We welcome this special celebration by bringing this type of entertainer to Pearland for our residents as well as our out of town guests to enjoy,” Parks & Recreation Special Events Coordinator Hannah Godsil said.

Texas band, Two Tons of Steel, serves as opening act at the Super Concert. Once known as the original band, Dead Crickets, they renamed the group Two Tons of Steel in 1996. The group is known to be a blend of country and punk music.

Pearland Town Center is located at 11200 Broadway Street in Pearland.

In addition to the Saturday night Super Concert, trolley car shuttles will be available during the super weekend and will be traveling between Pearland hotels and restaurants offering special incentives from 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 4-5.

Currently, there are 22 stops along the route through Pearland available for a $1 per ride.

“Pearland is positioned less than 10 miles from NRG Stadium which means our 11 hotels are in perfect proximity for the Big Game festivities,” Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Kim Sinistore said.
