Pearland ISD welcomed a new face as its director of bond program construction.
This January, John Posch took leadership of the district’s bond construction. Posch will provide management and oversight of programming, design and delivery of district bond construction projects.
With his construction career beginning as a licensed architect, Posch also brings experience in project management. He boasts 25 years’ experience in bond construction management in public and higher education.
Most recently executive director of construction for Lone Star College, where he led a $485 million bond project, he also has experience overseeing construction projects at the university level for University of Houston and Rice University and in K-12 education for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.
“I really enjoy the K-12 level because there’s more of a connection with the community,” he said.
With the bond project construction schedule outlined, Posch will begin working on the planning and design phases of initial projects.
“My overall goal is for the district to plan projects well so that everything occurs within schedule and budget. To begin, we will look at hiring two project managers for our team so that several projects can occur simultaneously and we have people to cover those projects,” Posch said.
While working with the director of facilities and planning, district architects and campus administration, he will ensure goals of the board of trustees and superintendent are met by providing direction and monitoring districtwide construction projects and budgets.
