Natural Resources Division receives KPB award for tree project

The Community Greening Award was presented to the Natural Resources Division of the Parks and Recreation Department by Keep Pearland Beautiful recently.

This award is given to a nominee who helped Keep Pearland Beautiful make Pearland a more beautiful place to live through beautification projects, according to KPB Executive Director Andrew Miller.

The Natural Resources Division was awarded for the Dow grant tree planting project.
More than 250 native trees were planted at the John Hargrove Environmental Complex trails. The division had to not only prepare the areas to plant the trees but also assisted in the coordination of more than 300 volunteers who were interns in engineering working for DOW.

Natural Resources Division works in the city to manage the area’s natural resources and make sound decisions when needed regarding them.

The division is made up of outdoor education, ponds, prairieland, trees, wetlands and wildlife professionals. Division Superintendent is Tyler Froberg.
