Manvel improves to 24-9 and entered the post-season as the 23-5A champions with a perfect 16-0 mark.

The first quarter between Manvel and Sharpstown in the opening round of the playoffs saw sophomore Mckinzie Green outscore the Lady Apollos 7-4.

The sharpshooting Green would see her teammates get involved in the second quarter to the tune of 19-6 giving the Lady Mavs a 26-10 lead at intermission.

That’s when the game would fall apart for Sharpstown in the second half as Manvel blew past the Lady Apollos 34-0 in the third quarter as the offense was on fire and the defense didn’t allow the out-manned Sharpstown girls a point for a 60-10 lead entering the final period.

With the game in hand, Manvel cruised 16-2 in the final period to post the lopsided 76-12 win sending them to the next round of the 5A Region III playoffs.

Manvel saw almost every girl on the roster put points on the scoreboard with Green leading the way with 23 points.

Anessa Dussette and Coretta Hopkins both tossed in eight points each while Kyah Barlow and Joy Chanslor each added seven points.
