Pearland Little League Opening Day Celebration is set for Feb. 25. A variety of activities are planned for children of all ages at the annual event that celebrates kids.
Activities will take place at the Pearland Area’s Dad Club at 6612 Fite Road in Pearland.
Organizers have reported that attendance will top 4,000 throughout the day and as a result, Opening Day has become one of the largest fundraising events of the year for the organization.
Opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. with a parade and the Challenger game starting at 10 a.m. Rides and games will also open at 10 a.m. Face painting, bouncy houses, ring tosses and more will be available.
Exhibition games begin at 11 a.m.
Pearland Little League gives the community a great sense of local pride with the 2010, 2014, and 2015 teams gaining national attention during the Little League World Series. The legacy is enhanced with several teams winning State championships.
Opening Day ceremonies was created to promote excitement for kids and teaches them to be proud they are a part of an organization, a team and a community, according to Little League organizers.
