Shadow Ranch Sports Complex will open soon and to kick off the opening, spring leagues are signing up players now to compete at the new location. Adult kickball and adult softball spring leagues will have their games at the new 65-acre park.
The $10.1 million facility was included and approved in the 2007 Bond Election. Construction began initially in 2014.
The park offers lighted softball/baseball fields, a turf field, volleyball courts, paved walking paths, covered pavilion, concessions, amphitheater and children’s playground.
Multiple tournaments and events can be held simultaneously. The size and amenities of the complex allow the city to host reginal, state and national athletic competitions and tournaments for a variety of sports.
Co-recreational kickball leagues, sanctioned by the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation and the United States Adult Kickball Association, are offered during the spring, summer and fall seasons. All games will be played on the softball fields at Shadow Creek Sports Complex.
Men’s and co-recreational softball leagues will also be played on the new Complex’s softball fields. All adult softball leagues are sanctioned by the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) and the Amateur Softball Association (ASA).
Both kickball and softball have 14-game seasons and have registration periods that run February through March 6. Kickball leagues begin Tuesday, March 21 and softball on Monday, March 20. Check out www.pearlandtx.gov for registration information.
The Shadow Creek Ranch Sports Complex is a first of its kind for a sports provider for the Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Pearland.
