Providing for birds to be topic for free lecture series

Keep Pearland Beautiful and the Brazoria County Master Gardeners are hosting a series of monthly lectures on gardening and yard care topics.

Providing for Birds in Your Backyard will be held March 9, as part of the series.

The program will begin at 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Pearland Recreation Center at 4141 Bailey Road in Pearland. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.

A question and answer session will follow each lecture. Dessert and coffee provided by KPB will be available.

There is no charge for these educational garden lectures.

New classes are held on the second Thursday of each month.

Brazoria County Master Gardeners will have their Open Garden Days March 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Brazoria Environmental Education Station on Hospital Drive and CR 171 in Angleton.

Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions in person and to lead tours of the garden. Ways to improve personal home and garden landscaping and different landscapes to view will be topics discussed.
