The third annual Chalk Walk will be held at the Captain’s Corner on May 6, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. This is a citywide event supporting public art for the City of Friendswood.

Artists created original works of art on the sidewalks in front of participating stores.

Artists of all ages, as well as sponsors from businesses, clubs or individuals are needed to participate. Chalk squares cost $100.

Artists will create 3’x3′ original works of Chalk Art on the sidewalks in front of participating stores.

In the past, stores included Friendswood Frame & Gallery, Charleston Tea Room, Two Friends, Ace Hardware, Starmaker Dancewear, Stefano’s Pizza, Ellie’s Kitchen, Silver Bee Boutique, Texture, TCBY, Mambo 2 Fitness, Sundance Yoga, Merle Norman and more.

Participants can purchase a $100 sidewalk “square” (3’x3′) and fill it in with an original Chalk Art creation or can purchase a $100 sidewalk “square” (3’x3′) and sponsor a local artist to complete an original Chalk Art creation. Sponsoring an artist includes a sponsor signature.
