The City of Manvel has been blessed with an abundance of growth. Presently we have eight active subdivisions when completed will add 6000 homes to our area. Retail economic growth has discovered us as well. We have Manvel Town Center consisting of 170 acres to be developed into a shopping center including a possible Krogers. We also have Presidio of Manvel consisting of 400 acres, 200 in commercial retail, including an anticipated HEB and 200 in residential. We have three other subdivisions waiting in the wings. The City of Manvel is finalizing Water and Waste-water plans so that we can move forward with adequate facilities to meet all their needs.

We realize that with all this anticipated growth, other needs must be met:

The Manvel Police Department have added three additional patrolmen with new cars equipped with all the necessary equipment bringing their total to 15 and laying the groundwork for additional personnel in the new budget. They are experiencing an increased calls for service.

The Manvel Volunteer Fire Department have received additional resources from the Emergency District #3 expanding their staff and equipment to meet their additional demands. They are also actively seeking additional volunteers to assist in their programs.

The Manvel EMS have experienced a call volume for service over the past two years of an increase of 27%. In 2016 they responded to nearly 1,900 calls for service. The Emergency Services District #3 have provided subsidy dollars for another 24-hour ambulance. They have added seven new employees and two new full-time positions. We are blessed to have two community hospitals in Pearland and our response time between our response area and the hospital allows us to quickly return to our area and ready for the next call.

As you can see the City of Manvel is ready for the expected growth. We will meet our challenges and assist all to the best of our ability.
