KFB offers landscaping opportunities with grants

Friendswood businesses and Home Owners Associations wanting to pursue landscape improvement projects can apply for grant funding through the City of Friendswood Keep Friendswood Beautiful Grant Incentive Program.

KFB supplies reimbursement for a landscape improvement project not exceeding $2,000. The business then matches the contribution with cash or in-kind donations, such as local resources of volunteer labor, donated materials, or professional services for example.

All businesses and HOA’s located within the city limits of Friendswood are eligible to apply. Any project approved by KFB and mutually agreed upon that would improve the appearance of the city and the business is eligible.

The project must meet and comply with City codes and laws. All projects shall be completed within 6 months of application is approved.

Last year members of the Falcon Ridge Homeowners Association were presented a check for $2,000 by Keep Friendswood Beautiful group at the September meeting at City Hall. Through the grant, median renovation was completed by the Falcon Ridge HOA and included tree removal and new landscaping.

Deadline for applying this year is March 31. All accepted grants must be completed prior to Sept. 15, in order to receive financial reimbursement.
