Richard Alan “Dick” Lemmon, 79, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Houston. Dick was born on December 4th, 1939 to Gladys Theadora Wesling and Henry Clay Lemmon in Buffalo, NY. In 1954, he graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso, TX where he was a cheerleader and played on the tennis team. Dick graduated from New Mexico State University in 1960 with an Architectural Engineering Degree and moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin for his first job at Alice Chalmers. He worked for 30 years at Carborundum and Sigri Carbon before becoming a Realtor for REMAX Southbelt from which he retired from. Dick was a loving husband, father, brother and PaPa . He was a member of Sagemont Church and member of Golf Crest Country Club in Pearland. Dick was one of the first Downtown YMCA Superstars in the 1970’s. With his athleticism and competitiveness, he excelled in golf, tennis, racquetball snow and water skiing. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and one was sure to hear a story or two about it. Dick had the joy of gab, he never met a stranger and had numerous stories to tell.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Bradshaw.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Linda; daughter Terri Lemmon Langner and husband Ronald and their children Lindsey and Lauren; son Randy Lemmon and wife Yvonne and their children Randal and Selena; daughter Tammy Brueggeman and husband David and their children Wade and Ashley; brother and best friend Tommy Lemmon of Spring and numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 P.M at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N.
