A Pear-Scape Send Off Celebration was held April 24 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Grand Cornerstone Development in Pearland.
An assembly of 20 painted pears were displayed in one place before their final installation at locations around town.
It is all part of the Pear-Scape Art Sculpture Trail.
Envisioned by the Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Pear-Scape Trail will feature artistic 4-foot size fiberglass “pears” painted by local artists positioned throughout the City.
The mission is to promote tourist related activity within Pearland in developing a public Pear Art Sculpture Trail as a cultural tourism attraction.
Once in place, the Pear-Scape Trail will be an attraction for visitors and residents alike.
Pear locations include: Independence Park, Shadow Creek Nature Trail, Southdown Park, Zychlinski Park and City Hall Gazebo.
The Grand Cornerstone Cultural Arts Center, located at 2319 N. Grand Blvd, is home to the Grand Cornerstone Theater and many of the Pearland area cultural arts organizations.
