Kenneth “Kenny” Duane Hubenak, 48, of Houston, TX passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX.  Kenny was born on May 31, 1968 in Alvin, TX to his parents Edmund Jr. and Helen (Korenek) Hubenak.
Living life to the fullest, Kenny touched many lives during his 48 years here on earth. He graduated from Friendswood High School in 1986, with the class motto being “Fire Up Friendswood, Fire Up.” He went on to earn a finance degree from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.  He worked at WorleyParsons for many years where he made countless lifelong friendships.  Anyone who knew Kenny knew he loved his family and that his daughter, Brooke, was the light of his life. His life was complete the day she was born and he carried her on a pedestal. She was “Daddy’s little princess”.  Kenny had a love for nature and would spend every free moment fishing on his boat or hunting in a field with his buddies.  He loved traveling back to his mother’s hometown of Nada, TX to hunt on the prairie every chance he could, with his buddies in tow. Kenny was the life of the party everywhere he went. There was never a dull moment with him around. He had a special way of putting a smile on anyone’s face with one of his many stories. He would have everyone crying (tears of laughter) when he told one of his famous stories.  He was always there to help when needed.  Kenny was able to make the ultimate gift to help those in need by giving the anatomical gift of life to multiple people he never meet.
Kenny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edmund Sr. and Bessie (Krenek) Hubenak and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Adela (Pavlu) Korenek.
He is survived by his parents Edmund Jr. and Helen Hubenak; his daughter, Brooke Hubenak; Brooke’s mother, Jennifer Hubenak, and half-sister Heather Woods, all of Friendswood, TX; along with his godparents, David H. Hubenak and his spouse Barbara of Wallis, TX. Kenny had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends that will miss him dearly.
