May 22 will be an important day in Alvin as The Rose partners with the local YMCA to bring mobile mammography to Alvin area women. Look for the bright pink van at the bypass location.
The Rose is the Houston area’s leading 501(c)(3) non-profit breast cancer organization providing mammography screening, diagnosis, early access to treatment and support to all women regardless of their ability to pay.
Board Certified Radiologists, specialized technical staff, two Mammography and Diagnostic Imaging Centers plus a fleet of Mobile Mammography vans offer advanced breast cancer screening and diagnostic services including mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies and access to treatment to more than 40,000 women annually. Since its launch in 1986, The Rose has served nearly 500,000 patients and is now the leading nonprofit breast health care organization in southeast Texas.
To meet the needs of insured and uninsured women (and sometimes men) in the Houston area and surrounding counties, The Rose depends on revenue from paying customers, grants and donations. “When you leave us you know you’ve been cared for and when you leave us you truly know we care,” according to Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and Co-Founder of The Rose.
Thelma Lay Anderson Family YMCA Mobile Mammography Day will be hosted by The Rose on Monday, May 22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Uninsured women may qualify for financialassistance. Call 281-464-5136. To register go to: www.therose.org/mobile. Use Online Registration Code: TLAF.
