The Alvin ISD Education Foundation hosted the16th annual Celebration of Academic Excellence on May 15 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pearland. The celebration recognizes the academic accomplishment of each of the top twenty seniors at Alvin High School, Manvel High School and the top two seniors at ASSETS Academy. In addition, the educators that the students chose as the one who had the most significant influence on their educational career thus far were also recognized. Videos of the students sharing the reason they chose the educator were a special part of the evening. The students shared what a difference the educators had made in encouraging and supporting them. Alvin High School Valedictorian, Sarah Hoffmann chose Kristi Bell as her most influential teacher and said, “Mrs. Bell opened the door to music for me and she was an amazing role model.”
