The National Council for Home Safety and Security has named Friendswood as the 19th safest city in the state.
The Council pulled data from the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report stats along with independent research to discover Texas’ safest cities in 2017. The majority are suburbs of major metropolitan Texas cities.
While Friendswood is in the top 20 of 50, the only other city listed in the area was Seabrook that came in 50.
Texas is 15th in the nation for the most violent crime rate per 100,000 people, according to NCHSS, and finding the safest cities in Texas to live is important.
The top 5 cities were Kermit, Trophy Club, Colleyville, Fairview and Heath, Texas.
To identify the safest cities in Texas, they reviewed the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics along with their own population data and internal research.
They eliminated any cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI and removed cities with populations under 5,000.
