Sesquicentennial pool to open June 1

To herald the end of school and the arrival of summer, the Sesquicentennial Pool behind City Hall will open Thursday, June 1 and have its regular season run through Tuesday, Aug. 15.

The pool was open Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 1 to 7 p.m. Admission was free on Monday (May 29) for Memorial Day.

The regular pool hours are Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday from 7 to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Pool hours are subject to change due to weather or special events.

For Friendswood residents, a Family Season Pass is $90, an Individual Season Pass is $55, and daily visits are $2.

Residents age 60 or older are free. Non-Friendswood residents pay an additional $10 for a season pass and an additional $2 for a Daily Pass.

Visa and MasterCard are accepted at the pool with a $10 minimum.

The Sesquicentennial Pool may also be rented.
