Reid, Owens take oaths of office

A Special Meeting was held at 6 p.m. June 19, by the City of Pearland City Council to canvass the votes from the election June 10, and to administer the oaths of office to the two elected individuals, mayor and council member in Position 7.

The votes were canvassed and results declared in the General Runoff Election.
Tom Reid was elected mayor and Woody Owens was elected council member in Position 7.

The two men were issued a Certificate of Election and were administered the oath of office.

Council member Derrick Reed was elected Mayor Pro-tem in a unanimous vote of 7-0.

A reception was held following the meeting that was adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
