In honor of Our Lady of Fatima’s 100th anniversary, Daniel Oberreuter, the lead singer of the Catholic band, The Thirsting, is giving a solo acoustic parish mission concert at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Sunday, June 25 at 7 p.m.

His concerts are called “Come Hold My Son” parish mission concerts and they were inspired by a song written by Oberreuter, “Come Hold My Son.”

The concert has free admission and is kid friendly.

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Oberreuter’s band, The Thirsting, offers cutting edge Catholic music. Under Oberreuter’s direction, The Thirsting proclaims the truths of the Catholic faith from confession, and the Eucharist, to the Trinity, and Mary and rivaling secular acts in energy and emotion.

The mission of The Thirsting is to inspire people to love and follow Jesus Christ through Mary and the rosary, the Eucharist and all the teachings of the Catholic Church.

The band has put out two self-produced albums, “Companions of the Lamb” in 2008 and “Universal Youth” in 2011. Currently, the band is working on a third full album release.

Sacred Heart Church cordially invites the public to attend and encourages all Catholic youth and adults to come to the concert and bring a friend or family member who has fallen away from the Catholic church.

The concert will be at the church which is located at 6502 County Road 48 in Manvel.
