The Texas A&M Aggies have landed two 2018 commitments from the Manvel Mavericks.

Brian Johnson, an outside linebacker/safety hybrid, committed to Coach Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies recently. The 6-foot-1.5, 185-pound Johnson made the announcement of his commitment on his personal Twitter account.

Johnson has been called the fastest linebacker prospect in the state.

Coming out of Head Coach Kirk Martin’s Manvel program, Johnson is the first linebacker commitment in the Aggies 2018 class.

It was predicted by many that Johnson would end up in College Station. He is listed in the Top 100 and Top 50 in the State of Texas and at his primary position of OLB.

Manvel’s Deneric Prince also committed to Texas A&M in the June recruiting run by the Aggies. Prince is a three-star running back. He is a 6-foot-1, 196 pound running back and is considered the 160th best player in the State.

He too announced his commitment on his personal Twitter account.

The question still being asked is if a third Manvel player will join Johnson and Prince on the 2018 Aggie list. Rumor has it that Manvel’s four-star receiver Jalen Preston, one of the top players in Texas and top receivers in the 2018 class could be leaning toward the Aggies.

Time will tell.
