Fireworks are usually part of July 4th celebrations and residents of Pearland can enjoy the firework show that will be part of the City of Pearland’s Celebration of Freedom at Pearland High School Football Stadium at sundown on July 4.

The free, family-friendly event includes live music and a state of the art fireworks display.

What residents should NOT do is use their own fireworks.

The City of Pearland Fire Department reminds residents that the use of fireworks and open burning are strictly prohibited in the city limits of Pearland and surrounding extraterritorial jurisdiction, which includes all areas normally serviced by the Pearland Fire Department.

The use of prohibited fireworks and open burning in these areas is a Class C misdemeanor carrying a fine up to $2,000 per violation.

To report illegal burning or fireworks, contact the Pearland Police Department at 281-997-4317.

Any questions regarding illegal fireworks or open burning can be directed to Pearland Fire Marshal’s Office at 281-997-4650 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Pearland High School Stadium is located at 3775 S. Main in Pearland.
