Only two more children’s summer camps are available through the City of Pearland.

“Mad Science – Sprouting Scientists” and “Mad Science – Wild Science” are the two programs that parents can still register their children to participate.

“Mad Science – Sprouting Scientists” is a half day preschool camp exploring the way things grow.

Children will dissect plant seeds, make leaf rubbings and create fruit and vegetable prints. They will investigate the world of worms and flower pollinators. The course runs Monday through Friday, Aug. 7-11 from 9 a.m. to noon. Campers must be at least 3 but younger than 5 years 11 months.

“Mad Science – Wild Science” involves a nature scavenger hunt where children can learn about the animal kingdom while discovering ways to protect the Earth.

In the camp they will learn about recycling, make paper, dissect owl pellets, and create the best eco-system with the information learned. Course schedule is Monday through Friday Aug. 7-11 from 1 to 4 pm. The camp is for children ages 6 through 12 years 11 months.

Both summer camps are at Westside Event Center at 2150 Countryplace Parkway in Pearland.
