BBQ party set to benefit county military moms, wives

A special event for military moms and wives in Brazoria County is happening Saturday, Sept. 2. It’s Time for Grill ‘N and Chill ‘N, a special barbecue event that begins at 5:30 p.m. and will take place at Dr. Hugh Patton’s Mancave in Pearland.

It was Patton, a local dentist, and his good friends, former Councilmember Greg Hill and current Councilmember Gary Moore who are hosting this event.

Special guest will be Congressman Pete Olson.

Food and drinks will be provided as well as musical entertainment. Children are also invited. Guests are asked to bring an item or items of any size or quantity to help military moms and wives in the county.

Items that they can use for mailing include batteries in AA or AAA sizes, disposable cameras, playing cards, black Sharpies, crossword puzzle books, paperback books, magazines about sports, autos, hunting, fishing, face towels but only in brown, beige or green, disposable razors-twin blade, gel shaving cream non aerosol, tooth brushes, trial sizes of mouthwash and toothpaste, dental floss and lip balm.

Other items include travel size hand sanitizer, shampoo, bath wash, lotion or baby wipes, foot powder, Febreeze non aerosol, small packages of q-tips, nail scrub brushes, eye drops, white tube socks, hand warmers for Christmas mail outs, letters of support from adults, children, or schools, travel size sunblock, tissues in travel size or feminine hygiene products for women in the military.

“Let’s help those who protect us,” Patton said.

Dr. Patton’s Mancave is located at 2509 Manvel Road in Pearland.
