This was the tenth year of the Foundation Gala and part of the evening was recognizing those who have been part of this event since the beginning. The ten year sponsors recognized were Stantec Architects, TDEC, Inc. Electrical Contractors, Ron Carter Automotive Dealerships, HomeTown Bank of Alvin, Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union and Froberg Farms. The Foundation also recognized waiters that had served for eight years – Regan Metoyer, nine years- Terry Droege and all ten years of the Gala – Wendy DelBello as well as the ten year Gala chairperson, Jody Droege.
“The gala is always a fun event because of our Celebrity Waiters who work hard to serve and entertain our guests. This year we were all keenly aware of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey so the decision was made to designate ALL the waiter tips directly toward our relief fund #alvinisdstrong to help families of Alvin ISD students and staff who were impacted by the storm and the Foundation board will match this total. It is very important that we help our Alvin ISD family with recovery and the generosity of our gala guests will help towards that goal,” said Sheila Olson, executive director of the Foundation.
“Thanks to everyone who made the event such a success. We are truly blessed to have the support of so many in our community and are excited about all that we will be able to do with the proceeds from the gala,” said Amy Roudbari, president of the foundation board.
