Friendswood proved it was Friendswood Strong with more than $7,000 in donations for recovery collected at the Harvey Benefit Concert, Sept. 23 at Stevenson Park.

The event ran four hours offering music by Funksion and Friendswood resident Aric Harding. Funksion donated their cost to show their support to the city.

Harding shared his music that went viral on the internet showing him playing his piano while hurricane water was rising inside his home.

Food trucks, three bounce house blowups for children, fresh kettle corn and face painting were all part of the fun. The children’s area was funded by Keep Friendswood Beautiful.

Friends of Downtown Friendswood sold Friendswood Strong tee-shirts.

Rotary members manned a booth to accept donations.

The concert was hosted by Keep Friendswood Beautiful, City of Friendswood, Friends of Downtown Friendswood and the Friendswood Rotary Club.

Before the event Keep Friendswood Beautiful members along with the Friendswood High School Recycle Club cleaned Stevenson Park.
